Crafting

Crafting offers experience and items that can be used or sold for profit; notably, weapon crafting.

One appeal of crafting is the ability to manufacture your own legal weapons and ammunition instead of purchasing it. Furthermore, carpentry is another legal method of crafting to generate experience and money.

Crafting illegal firearms will, of course, yield the most profit. A successful crafter must be prepared to gather large quantities of raw and processed materials. It takes time and planning for an efficient operation and one should be aware of the legal consequences should you get caught!

Getting Started

Crafting is done at a workbench purchasable at your house/trailer/mansion; this does not include your apartment.

All crafters must start with the basic components derived from raw materials. As you craft, you gain crafting experience towards your crafting level. Most recipes require you to reach a certain crafting level before you can make them.

Carpentry offers recipes with evenly ascending crafting levels for easy and legal progression. It is recommended to start with furniture crafting to increase your level enough to craft weapons.

The prominently legal guide for crafting will be detailed on this page. Information regarding Class 2s and beyond will be featured on the dedicated Weapons page.

You can find information on the Auto-Crafting process here.

Other Uses

Some crafting recipes are restricted to certain groups. This includes:

  • Faction exclusive weapons
  • Modshop Car Crafting
  • Company Business Cards

The above will not be described in detail as those recipes are restricted and should be discovered in RP.

Raw Materials

Resources for crafting can be mined and gathered at designated locations around the island. Use your navigation app to find mines/farms and processors as required.

Mining and tree felling require a pickaxe or axe respectively. Both tools can be purchased at any supermarket.

Mine materials by pulling out your pickaxe and pressing F to start collecting. These resources can be heavy and it is recommended to buy a truck for larger runs.

Uranium and Blood Diamonds are illegal to obtain; they are mostly used in restricted weapons crafting which is illegal anyway.

Pay attention to the mining level required for each material. You can check your current level in your skills app.

Cloth Water Bottles

Unlike mining and tree felling, no tool is required for cloth or water bottles. Cloth can be purchased from the hardware store. Empty water bottles can be gathered in bulk at the garbage dump or collected after drinking water bottles from the store.

Crafting Components

True to life, larger products are more often comprised from manufactured parts instead of raw lumps of metal. For example, wood can be crafted into pallets and metals can be refined into bars.

10 Empty Water Bottles 5 Processed Ruby 5 Processed Iron 9 Metal 8 Processed Earth 8 Processed Steel 4 Processed Uranium 8 Processed Blood Diamonds 5 Processed Logs or Timber 4 Sulphur 3 Coal + 1 Plastic

Most raw materials have a bar form they can be crafted into. Others have sensible derivates such as plastic from water bottles and pallets from raw wood. Coal is somewhat of an exception whose derivative also requires plastic to craft polymer.

Carpentry

Wood working is a predominantly legal craft designed for level progression. Carpentry offers recipes with evenly ascending crafting levels for easy and legal progression. Different woods are utilised as the level requirement increases; starting with timber, then oak, teak, and finally mahogany. Later recipes require more resources.

Basic Weapon Crafting

The ability to craft weapons is the fundamental appeal of crafting for civilians. This section will cover the basics of weapon crafting including legality, components, melee weapons, and your first pistol.

Further information regarding crafting Class 2s and beyond is available on the dedicated Weapons page.

Legality of Weapon Crafting

https://www.anzus.life/topic/64050-sb-024-01012023-gunsmithing-certifications-act/

Most legislature regarding weapon crafting will reference the Gunsmithing Certification (GC). This licence is required for gun manufacturing operations which, by definition, refers to the gathering, manufacturing, or otherwise crafting of weapons by a company and its employees in the interest of retrieving monetary gain.

In short, it is not illegal for an individual to craft unrestricted weapons (Class 1s and Melee Weapons) and their components for personal use. Most, but not all, pistols are Class 1s and legal to possess and gather resources for. Beyond this, any civilian can file to establish their own weapon manufacturing company provided they are cleared to be certified for restricted weapons crafting.

Novice weaponsmiths must still abide by laws pertaining to deadly weapons. It is advised to review the criminal code and legislature before handling a weapon, let alone crafting. Some charges relevant to legal weapon crafting include:

  • Weapons Trafficking: The transportation of 5 or more of any firearms without license.
  • Weapons Distribution: Selling or exchanging of weapons without license.

While caching and stockpiling laws do not apply to legal weapons, note that a large number of weapons in your possession may suggest intent to sell or distribute though (if you want to avoid trouble).

Melee Weapons

Popular melee weapons include:

  • Baseball Bat
  • Crafted Axe
  • Katana

Melee weapons can offer interesting RP scenarios. They can be used to rob stores.

Baby's First Pistol

The first few pistols available to craft are the CZ 75 at level 4, Beretta M9 at level 5, and Kimber Night Warrior at level 6.

1 Iron Bar

Most pistol recipes consist of a gun trigger, barrel, latch, and one additional ingredient such as Iron or an Iron bar as above. Due to their composition, pistols do not require a gun butt or rivets but these parts are crucial in crafting rifles.

At this stage, you can legally craft most pistols for personal use or go on to illegally manufacture weapons graded above class 1. It is important to note that not every craftable pistol is a class 1 or fully legal by their components. For example, the Raging Bull requires a uranium bar and the Deagle takes .50 rounds classifying it as a Class 2-A.

To legally craft beyond Class 1s, you must become a licensed member of a weapons manufacturing company such as Korella Dinamika.
